Norma was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1946 on St. Patrick’s Day. For the longest time she thought the parade was for her on her birthday. She has an older sister Jo-Ann and little brother Rudy. In 1954 the family moved to Queens where she graduated from high school. Her parents owned a furniture store, and Norma worked there. Her father was Baptist, and her mother Methodist, but she was raised Presbyterian when they moved to Queens.

Luther Turner Avery Sr. passed away October 24, 2022, at the age of 100 years old. Luther was born in Zama, Mississippi on August 14, 1922, to Captain Logan (C. L.) Avery and Katie Lavonia McMichael Avery. He had two sisters Lavonia Holly and Maebell McCool-Mundell, and twin brothers, Sam Lawrence (S. L.) Avery and Charles Leonard (C. L.) Avery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that those who wish to express sympathy please donate to the Alzheimer's Association in loving memory of Hozie Lee Howell.

In his off time, Buck loves spending time with his daughter and their family pets. He also enjoys live music, going to the movies and backyard barbeques. Buck, a native New Mexican came to Portland in 2003 to pursue a career in the funeral industry. After graduating Mt. Hood Community College’s Funeral Service program in 2006, he completed his apprenticeship and became a fully licensed funeral director in 2007.
